We believe that people do not evolve through guilt or coercion. We take a developmental approach to our work to find the solution that is appropriate for where people are in their organization. We want to give people a better story rather than condemning the story in which they are living. We have found this to be a much more effective way to create sustainable change.
We do not believe in doing this work haphazardly. Organizations don’t approach other solutions with “throw spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks”. Why would we do this when it comes to something as important as intercultural competence? The solutions that we provide are strategic with evidence-based results to back them.
We don’t assume that we have every answer to every problem. Our operating assumption is that organizations already have many of the tools they need to provide a solution if they are asked the right questions. Our method is to unleash the wisdom that already lives “in the room”. We want to engender appreciative inquiry as we better understand where people are coming from.
We have over 30 years of experience of creating transformative communal moments for people. We facilitate experiences that will move people from thought into action. Through performing, story sharing, and conversation, we invite participants into deeper engagement with issues that are difficult to tackle. We believe that the best way to change people’s behavior is through their bodies and their hearts.
While we know that racism is one of the most pressing issues of our time, we also know that you cannot address this issue while neglecting other forms of oppression. We take a holistic approach to our work that takes into account issues of gender, class, religion, sexuality, and many more diversity dimensions. We believe that none of us are free until we all are free. Our liberation is inextricably connected to our neighbor’s liberation.

What would a liturgy look like that took into account the diversity of God’s kin-dome? In this interactive worship experience, participants engage in communal praise and lament that is inclusive and welcoming. This liturgy seeks to build bridges across our many cultural differences by honoring traditional liturgy and infusing new imagination into the work of the people.
A musical presentation that explores difficult topics around race and faith. Through “edutainment”, spoken word artist Joe Davis and HipHop performer David Scherer (AGAPE*) challenge listeners to rethink the ways in which God can build bridges across differences. Topics include dismantling racism, cultural anxiety, and racial accompaniment. Participants are then invited into a respectful conversation about these issues using art as the catalyst for deeper engagement. This event can be catered for different age groups.
Taking your staff through a 3-day intensive training will allow them to deepen their understanding of how diversity, equity, and inclusion can be operationalized in their context.
